Vaughan Jones' favorite desk, made of New Zealand Kauri wood (ancient wood from trees felled some 50,000 years ago by natural forces and recovered from underground sources). Jones brought the desk to his math department office at UC Berkeley and subsequently transferred it to his home in Bodega Bay.
