Here, participants in the 1994 Huia conference, "Knots@Huia," join together to produce a (human) Conway knot with 11 crossings.

To identify the people in the photo follow the knot, starting from the southwest corner of the photo with Christopher Atkins (his back to the camera). Atkins touches Cameron Gordon's feet; Gordon touches Elliott Lawes' feet; Lawes touches Richard Evans' feet; Evans connects with Gaven Martin's hands (behind Cameron Walker's back and under Brian Van Dam's ankles); Martin's feet connect to Van Dam's hands; Van Dam's feet touch Walter Neumann's hands; Neuman's feet touch Linda Kirby's hands; Kirby's feet connect with Vaughan Jones' hands (in white T-shirt and black trunks); Jones' feet connect to Tony Cole's feet (in blue shorts), with the path going under John Holt's legs; Cole connects with the feet of Jim Hoste in dark blue shorts (wearing sneakers); Hoste connects with Hyam Rubinstein's hands; Rubinstein's feet connect with David Gauld's feet; Gauld's hands lead to John Holt's feet; Holt connects to Cameron Walker's hands (underneath Gaven Marten's shoulders); Walker's feet complete the knot with their connection to Atkins' feet (underneath Elliott Lawes).
